In this overnight role, you'll provide a safe, supportive, and stable environment for the young people in our care while they sleep and wake.
About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Linton Hall campus. As an Awake Overnight Residential Counselor, you remain alert and present throughout the overnight hours, ensuring the safety, supervision, and well-being of residents during a critical part of their day. The work calls for compassion, attentiveness, and a genuine commitment to helping youth thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay awake and attentive during overnight shifts to monitor and supervise residents.
- Maintain a secure, calm, and structured environment throughout the night.
- Respond promptly to residents' needs and any situations that arise after hours.
- Document overnight observations and communicate clearly with daytime staff during shift transitions.
- Support the daily routines, structure, and care plans established for each young person.
- Uphold the values, standards, and mission of Youth For Tomorrow.
Qualifications
- A sincere dedication to serving and supporting at-risk youth.
- The ability to stay awake, alert, and engaged throughout overnight hours.
- Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
- Sound judgment and the capacity to remain composed in challenging moments.
- Comfort working on-site in a residential setting in Prince William County.
