Relationship Manager, Specialist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial services organization in their search for a Relationship Manager, Specialist to join their institutional retirement services team. This is a remote opportunity for candidates based on the West Coast of the United States.

Our client manages complex employer-sponsored retirement plan relationships and is seeking an experienced professional who can deliver consultative, strategic guidance to senior plan sponsor decision-makers. You will serve as the primary relationship owner for sophisticated recordkeeping clients, ensuring seamless service delivery while identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex recordkeeping and investment-only plan sponsor relationships by understanding client history, strategic priorities, and evolving needs
• Conduct proactive strategic planning sessions and high-value consultations with senior client stakeholders
• Recommend service, operational, and process enhancements in partnership with internal teams to ensure exceptional recordkeeping execution
• Lead resolution of complex client issues related to retirement plan products, services, and processes through creative, forward-looking solutions
• Collaborate across functions to design tailored service solutions, engaging subject matter experts and leveraging internal networks
• Apply expert-level knowledge of retirement plan investments, products, and competitive landscape to provide long-term strategic guidance
• Contribute to enterprise initiatives and special projects as assigned
• Travel 25-50% within your assigned West Coast region

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of related professional experience
• At least 3 years of experience in financial services and relationship management preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in employer-sponsored retirement plans including 401(k), 403(b), rollover solutions, participant engagement, or retirement readiness
• Recordkeeping (retirement plan administration) experience is required
• Proven ability to develop senior and executive-level relationships within sophisticated organizations
• Strong skills in navigating ambiguity and managing complex stakeholder environments
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
• FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses required (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Must reside on the West Coast of the United States for this remote role
• Existing recordkeeping client relationships and regional connectivity is a plus
• Investment competence is a plus
