About the Role
The Rec Leader Bayside Center position sits within the Community Services department, under the Recreation / Music Pier category, and reports to the Recreation Supervisor. Based at the Bayside Center (520 Bay Ave), this on-site role runs for the summer season from June through August. Expect a part-time weekly schedule of roughly 15 to 20 hours, with shifts from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This is not a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead a range of recreation and educational activities for participants at the center.
- Deliver programming across both indoor and outdoor spaces at the Bayside Center.
- Conduct educational sessions and guide participants through structured activities.
- Work under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor to support daily operations.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment for everyone who attends.
Qualifications
- Comfortable leading group recreation and education activities for a variety of ages.
- Dependable and able to commit to the morning weekday schedule throughout the June–August season.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with enthusiasm for community programming.
- Able to work effectively in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Willing to follow direction from the Recreation Supervisor and collaborate with the Community Services team.
