Director, Data Center Facilities Development

Oracle is hiring a Director, Data Center Facilities Development to oversee major infrastructure construction initiatives in Capitol, Richmond. This full-time position puts you at the forefront of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure expansion, leading strategic projects while mentoring and developing a high-performing leadership team.

About the Role

As Director of Data Center Facilities Development, you'll spearhead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex data center construction and buildout programs. This leadership role combines hands-on project oversight with talent development, strategic partnership, and operational transformation. You'll work directly with senior stakeholders, infrastructure partners, and cross-functional teams to meet aggressive timelines and quality standards that define Oracle's position in cloud infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Lead and deliver large-scale data center construction projects from conception through commissioning
• Recruit, mentor, and coach project managers and engineering leads, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Establish and enforce operational standards across all facilities development initiatives
• Collaborate with senior leadership, external colocation partners, and cross-functional teams to align on scope, budget, and schedules
• Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate time-to-market
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate competing priorities across global teams

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of leadership experience managing large-scale construction, infrastructure, or facilities projects
• Proven track record developing and leading high-performing teams in matrix or complex organizational environments
• Strong expertise in project management methodologies, budget oversight, and risk mitigation
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with external vendors, contractors, and strategic partners
• Experience driving operational excellence and process optimization in capital-intensive environments
• Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels and technical disciplines
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
