About the Role

As a CDL A Regional Truck Driver with Updike Distribution Logistics, you'll run freight across a five-state regional footprint covering Southern California, Northern California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Regional routes mean predictable lanes, steady freight volume, and a schedule that keeps you closer to home than OTR driving. Updike is structured around treating drivers with respect and making sure every mile counts.

What You'll Do

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely over regional routes throughout CA, AZ, NV, and UT
• Pick up and deliver freight on time while maintaining excellent customer service at every stop
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per FMCSA standards
• Manage hours of service accurately using an ELD system and maintain compliant logbooks
• Properly secure, load, and unload cargo as required
• Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route status, delays, or any on-road issues
• Uphold all DOT regulations and company safety policies at all times

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class A CDL — this is a requirement, not a preference
• Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) and a current DOT medical certificate
• Comfortable operating in high-traffic corridors across Southern California and the Southwest
• Experience with ELD systems and federal hours-of-service rules
• Strong time management, reliability, and professional communication with dispatch and customers
• Ability to work independently while staying accountable to delivery windows and safety standards

Compensation

• Starting rate of 54 cents per mile (CPM), with a performance bonus of up to 5.5 CPM — bringing total potential pay to 59.5 CPM
• Layover pay of $75 per 24-hour layover period
• Consistent freight volume means fewer empty miles and more predictable earnings
