Linux System Administrator

Join CACI as a Linux System Administrator based in National Harbor, Prince George's County, supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Office of the Chief Information Security Officer in Washington, D.C. This is a full-time, regular position offering an opportunity to contribute to mission-critical IT security infrastructure.

Role Overview

CACI seeks an experienced Linux System Administrator to maintain, configure, and support Linux-based systems serving FEMA's cybersecurity operations. You'll work in a federal IT environment where reliability, security, and performance are essential. This role provides no travel requirements and requires no security clearance at hire.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Linux operating systems across production and development environments
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security using standard administration tools
• Perform regular maintenance, patches, and updates while minimizing service disruption
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues affecting system operations
• Document configurations, procedures, and system changes for team reference
• Support end-users with technical guidance and account administration
• Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain hardening standards

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise administering Linux systems in production environments
• Strong knowledge of system security, user management, and access controls
• Proficiency with command-line tools, shell scripting, and system automation
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system and network issues independently
• Experience with backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in team environments supporting federal agencies
