Platform Engineer, Systems Engineering

Intercontinental Exchange is hiring a Platform Engineer, Systems Engineering for our Jacksonville, Duval County office. This full-time position offers the chance to architect and operate a critical containerized platform serving high-performance applications across the organization.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our infrastructure team and lead the evolution of our container orchestration platform. In this role, you'll work with development teams to accelerate the migration of performance-critical applications into a modern microservices architecture, powered by containerized deployment technologies. You'll be the bridge between platform capabilities and application needs, enabling teams to build, deploy, and scale with confidence.

Core Duties

• Build and maintain infrastructure supporting containerized application workloads and microservices deployments
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to plan and execute application migrations to the platform
• Optimize platform performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
• Document platform capabilities, best practices, and operational procedures
• Monitor platform health and troubleshoot issues affecting application uptime
• Drive adoption by providing technical guidance and support to platform users

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies and modern container orchestration
• Proven background in systems engineering or platform infrastructure work
• Strong Linux/Unix systems administration knowledge
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical systems
• Problem-solving mindset and passion for enabling other engineers
