Join Kiewit as a Quality Specialist on our Heavy Civil team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is an entry-level position based in the Northwest District where you'll ensure construction quality standards and compliance across major transportation projects in the Oahu area.
About the Role
As Quality Specialist for Kiewit's Heavy Civil division, you'll work directly with the Quality Manager to develop, implement, and monitor project quality plans. You'll be the quality voice on site—conducting inspections, documenting compliance, and working alongside field teams to maintain the high standards Kiewit is known for in transportation and infrastructure work.
What You'll Do
- Inspect materials, workmanship, and completed work against project specifications and quality standards
- Perform testing coordination for concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials
- Maintain detailed quality documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records
- Coordinate with subcontractors and field personnel to ensure work meets contract requirements
- Monitor adherence to safety protocols and quality procedures on active construction sites
- Report quality issues and participate in corrective action planning
- Support the Quality Manager with data collection, trend analysis, and project meetings
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field is a plus
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Willingness to work outdoors in Hawaii's environment on active construction projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Experience with construction or quality testing is helpful but not required
