Field/Office Engineer – Kiewit Bridge and Marine

About the Role

The Field/Office Engineer role bridges the gap between jobsite execution and project management. You'll spend time both in the field observing construction operations and in the office coordinating technical details, quality tracking, and documentation. This is an ideal entry-level opportunity to build real-world engineering experience while supporting Kiewit's marine and bridge construction divisions.

What You'll Do

• Assist in layout, surveying, and staking of structural elements on active construction sites
• Monitor material deliveries and quality compliance against project specifications
• Document field conditions, daily progress, and changes that affect project scope or schedule
• Support bridge and marine structure installation activities and coordinate between field crews and office staff
• Maintain site safety compliance and participate in hazard recognition and mitigation
• Prepare field notes and data for inclusion in project records and reports
• Assist senior engineers with calculations, sketches, and technical documentation

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and jobsite communication
• Proficiency with basic surveying and measurement tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize technical information accurately
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work flexible hours as project demands require
• Ability to work safely at heights and in marine/waterfront environments
• Clear communication skills and comfort collaborating with construction teams and office staff
