Quality and Release Manager

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential technology client in their search for a Quality and Release Manager. This is a remote position based in the United States. We're looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of quality assurance and shipping velocity—a professional who can build release systems, quality gates, and testing strategies that ensure a consumer application ships with confidence every time.

Responsibilities

• Own the QA strategy across automated and manual testing, making key decisions about what to automate, what to test manually, and acceptable risk levels, with regression coverage on critical paths including onboarding, payments, subscriptions, messaging, and authentication
• Maintain the release calendar and quality scorecards, reporting crash rates, defect escape rates, and release health to leadership
• Run release retrospectives, converting incidents and escaped defects into durable process improvements, and connecting release decisions to incident response processes
• Manage the end-to-end release process for iOS applications, including predictable release trains with clear cut, freeze, and submission dates through App Store submission, phased rollout, and rollback/fix-forward procedures
• Define release readiness criteria and lead go/no-go decision making
• Integrate third-party testing services and AI-assisted QA tooling where appropriate

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years in software quality, release management, or engineering, with 3+ years managing people
• Deep knowledge of the App Store release lifecycle including TestFlight, phased release, expedited review, and rejection handling
• Experience with subscription and payment flows on iOS platforms
• Proven experience building test automation strategies for mobile, including real-device testing, feature flags, and progressive rollouts
• Track record of deciding the split between automated and manual testing, and managing third-party QA or crowdtesting vendors
• Fluency with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and strong knowledge of Git branching strategies for mobile release workflows
• Clear, direct written communication skills
• Systems-building mindset: you create process and automation so release quality depends on systems rather than individual memory
• Impact-driven approach: you focus regression and automation coverage on the most critical user paths rather than pursuing full coverage everywhere
• Ownership mentality: you take escaped defects from discovery through root cause to prevention
• Ability to partner effectively with engineering managers, product teams, and leadership, embedding quality into everyday workflows while balancing team velocity
• Bias toward shipping and iteration, improving the release process incrementally rather than waiting for perfect systems
