Purchasing Assistant Team Leader

About the Role

As Purchasing Assistant Team Leader at HelloFresh you will lead Purchasing Coordinators inside International Supply Chain Operations. Your focus will center on accurate generation and timely dispatch of purchase orders to suppliers across European markets. You will operate alongside local supply chain groups and procurement colleagues to support broader business aims and higher customer satisfaction. The position sits inside a collaborative, learning-focused setting that values varied perspectives and continuous skill growth.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coach, and refine performance of a Purchasing Coordinators team managing pan-European buying work across categories such as protein, grocery, and packaging.
• Oversee full category activities that cover supplier results, demand forecasts, buying decisions, and shipment monitoring.
• Own key outcomes including on-time in-full delivery, waste reduction, advance shipping notice adherence, and fewer customer mistakes.
• Collaborate with international supply chain cluster groups to synchronize strategy and set up clear daily operating rules.
• Apply data-based reports that locate, raise, and resolve supply risks throughout Europe before they grow.
• Assess team capacity with managers so workloads stay balanced and service capacity can expand as needed.
• Drive operational upgrades, suggest tool improvements, and create standard procedures that ease onboarding and daily work.
• Track service scores and present concise insights that help stakeholders make better choices.
• Act as the go-to expert for escalations and demonstrate flexible problem solving under tight deadlines.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, or a comparable discipline.
• Minimum three years working in procurement, supply chain, data entry, or administrative operations.
• Prior people management preferred; candidates who show clear leadership interest and readiness are also welcome.
• Hands-on background measuring, examining, and sharing performance metrics.
• Solid command of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools; familiarity with ERP or MRP systems is helpful.
• Practical understanding of common office machines, computers, and related devices.
• Clear written and spoken English.
• Ability in an added European language such as German, Dutch, French, Spanish, or Italian is advantageous.
