Program Manager, Open School

About the Role

IHI’s Open School initiative equips future health care leaders with the knowledge and skills to drive quality improvement and patient safety. The Program Manager oversees day‑to‑day operations, coordinates educational offerings, and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure the program meets its strategic objectives.

What You'll Do

• Plan, schedule, and deliver Open School courses, webinars, and learning resources for a diverse audience of students, faculty, and health‑care professionals.
• Maintain and update program content in alignment with current improvement science and IHI’s evidence‑based frameworks.
• Track enrollment, completion rates, and participant feedback; analyze data to identify trends and inform program enhancements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for partner institutions, facilitating agreements, logistics, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the development of grant proposals, reports, and presentations that showcase the impact of the Open School to stakeholders and funders.
• Coordinate cross‑functional efforts with marketing, technology, and finance teams to support promotional campaigns and budget management.
• Stay current with emerging trends in health‑care education and quality improvement, integrating relevant innovations into program design.

What We're Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in public health, education, health‑care administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience managing educational programs, training initiatives, or project‑based work within health‑care or nonprofit settings.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple timelines, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, comfortable presenting to varied audiences and preparing clear documentation.
• Proficiency with learning management systems, data tracking tools, and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
• Experience working collaboratively with external partners, including academic institutions and health‑care organizations.
