Product Designer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Product Designer to join their team in Berlin. In this role, you will:

• Own design activities to launch and improve features that help customers register, authenticate, manage their accounts, and make payments, exploring opportunities where AI can simplify complex interactions
• Design and improve internal customer-service and operations tools to support the customer base
• Lead rapid prototyping activities using generative and agentic tools to turn concepts into testable experiences
• Support larger end-to-end design discovery and delivery, guided by more senior design peers
• Validate designs quickly and iterate, using qualitative research, operational metrics, and security and compliance feedback to maintain UX quality standards
• Run feedback loops to ensure AI-generated work meets high ethical and quality standards
• Work proactively with product managers, engineers, and data specialists to design and ship high-quality experiences
• Partner with peers and technical teams to experiment and build UX infrastructure for AI-driven features
• Communicate design intent, choices, and trade-offs clearly to teams and stakeholders
• Translate complex backend capabilities, including AI/ML models and agentic logic, into intuitive interfaces
• Surface compliance requirements and shape experiences that are both robust and user-friendly
• Adopt and contribute reusable UX patterns to maintain cohesive experiences across micro-frontends
• Collaborate with the design system team to ensure components and patterns remain accessible, consistent, and well-documented
• Stay current on AI capabilities and evolving design practices when agents are integrated into workflows

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of product design experience, ideally in fintech, platform services, or another highly regulated complex environment where trust and compliance are critical
• A portfolio demonstrating strong product design experience in complex systems, with real examples of AI/ML-driven features, agentic workflows, or conversational interfaces
• Clear understanding of designing for AI: system uncertainty, predictability, user trust, error prevention, and human-in-the-loop feedback mechanisms
• Experience with user-driven validation techniques: qualitative, quantitative, and analytics-based methods
• Strong grasp of designing with generative and agentic tools to explore concepts faster and build high-fidelity deliverables
• Ability to actively participate in cross-functional workshops, including with data scientists and AI/ML engineers
• Data-informed mindset and comfort working with security, compliance, operational KPIs, and AI system metrics
• Strong storytelling ability to explain complex AI logic or automated systems in simple, human terms
• Proactive learner who already uses AI-augmented workflows for research synthesis, copywriting, ideation, and delivery
• German language skills are not required for this position
