About the Role

As Principal Engineer - Automation focused on Data & Platforms Integration, you'll architect and oversee automation solutions that streamline data flows and platform connectivity across Lilly's enterprise. You'll set technical direction, mentor engineering teams, and drive strategic initiatives that accelerate how we integrate systems to deliver life-changing medicines faster to patients worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation frameworks that integrate data systems and platforms across the organization
• Lead technical strategy for data pipeline and platform integration projects
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on automation best practices and architectural patterns
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and reduce manual processes
• Oversee code quality, testing standards, and continuous improvement of automation systems
• Drive adoption of modern automation tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency

Who We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in automation engineering, with demonstrated expertise in data integration and platform connectivity
• Strong background in designing scalable, maintainable automation solutions
• Proven leadership experience mentoring technical teams and influencing architectural decisions
• Deep knowledge of modern data platforms, integration patterns, and automation frameworks
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated industries preferred
