Principal AI Solutions Engineer

Bausch + Lomb is hiring a Principal AI Solutions Engineer for our Salem, Marion County location. In this full-time role, you'll architect and lead the deployment of advanced AI systems that drive innovation across our eye health portfolio.

We're seeking an accomplished AI leader to design and deliver enterprise-scale artificial intelligence solutions that transform how we innovate in eye health. This principal-level role combines deep technical expertise with cross-functional leadership, positioning you to architect solutions that impact millions of patients worldwide through Bausch + Lomb's diverse healthcare portfolio.

What You'll Do

• Design and architect AI solutions that address critical challenges in eye health, diagnostics, and clinical operations
• Lead technical strategy and implementation of machine learning systems and intelligent applications
• Partner with product, clinical, and engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable AI applications
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on AI best practices, emerging technologies, and performance optimization
• Evaluate new AI frameworks and tools to enhance development velocity and solution quality
• Establish and enforce standards for model validation, data quality, and responsible AI deployment

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience designing and deploying machine learning and AI systems in production environments
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and modern ML frameworks
• Proven track record mentoring technical teams and driving cross-functional technology decisions
• Deep knowledge of ML best practices, including model validation, performance tuning, and risk mitigation
• Strong ability to communicate complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or closely related discipline
• 7+ years of professional experience in AI and ML engineering roles, with 3+ years in principal or leadership positions
