Kreyco seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide self-contained instruction to students with diverse learning needs in New Rochelle, Westchester County. This part-time teaching position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on student success while partnering with a nationwide K-12 education organization committed to building strong bridges between schools and qualified educators.

About the Role

As a SPED self-contained instructor, you'll lead a specialized classroom environment where every student receives personalized, high-quality instruction tailored to their individual learning profile. Kreyco partners schools with experienced special education teachers who are passionate about student outcomes and skilled in differentiated teaching strategies.

What You'll Do

• Deliver specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting, addressing diverse student needs and learning styles
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school teams and families
• Create adaptive lesson plans and learning materials that meet individual student goals and state standards
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data and classroom observations
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture that promotes student confidence and academic growth
• Communicate regularly with administrators, general education staff, and families about student progress and needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with special education requirements

What We're Looking For

• Valid New York State special education teacher certification or eligibility
• Proven experience teaching in a self-contained special education setting
• Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and differentiated instruction
• Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, and service providers
• Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and a commitment to educational equity
• Reliable, professional approach and strong communication abilities
