PreSales Solution Architect (Azure) (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud services organization seeking a PreSales Solution Architect (Azure) based in Essen, Nordrhein-Westfalen. This role sits at the critical intersection of sales, technical delivery, and operations, translating customer requirements into operationally sound Azure-based managed service solutions.

You will work closely with enterprise clients to architect solutions that not only meet technical needs but are designed from day one to transition seamlessly into production operations. Your expertise will bridge the gap between what customers need and how services are delivered and maintained at scale.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements during the presales process and translate them into managed service solutions built on Azure PaaS, IaaS, and container services
• Collaborate with service operations teams to design concrete operating models for new customer solutions, including operational responsibility definitions, SLAs, automation levels, and interfaces
• Create technical solution concepts, effort estimates, and operational assumptions to support proposals and business cases
• Lead and participate in customer meetings and workshops, facilitating technical requirements clarification and presenting solution proposals to decision-makers
• Ensure structured handoffs from presales to delivery and operations teams
• Contribute actively to the evolution of the managed services portfolio
• Advise customers on security, scalability, availability, and operational costs of their Azure environments within a managed service context

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in architecture design with Azure PaaS, IaaS, and container services, ideally with operational experience running such environments
• Proven ability to translate customer requirements into technical architectures, operating models, and service concepts
• Experience advising customers on Azure services regarding functionality, security, scaling, and operational considerations
• Familiarity with managed services fundamentals including SLAs, operational processes, service levels, automation, and ITSM
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, automated pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code, and their importance for standardized operations
• Capability to lead technical presales meetings and present solutions clearly to both customers and internal stakeholders
• Strong understanding of your role as an interface between sales, development, and operations
• Fluent German language skills and solid English communication abilities
