Pre-Sales Solutions Architect

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential energy technology organization seeking a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect to join their commercial team. In this role, you will lead the technical aspects of sales engagements, working at the intersection of technology and commercial strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading discovery workshops to understand current and target technical architectures for prospective clients
• Translating complex requirements into solution designs that maximize client value and enable successful implementation
• Developing deep understanding of each client's technical landscape and transformation goals to design optimal architectures
• Estimating work packages to set implementation programmes up for success
• Collaborating with product and technology teams to evolve solution architectures and deliver compelling technical presentations
• Providing key technical input into tender responses and customer proposals
• Partnering with pre-sales engineering teams to shape and design proof-of-concept exercises
• Traveling to client sites across the UK, Europe, and beyond as required
• Acting as a bridge between market demand and engineering teams, ensuring client needs are reflected in product roadmaps
• Advising clients on achieving measurable business outcomes through a data-driven approach
• Supporting commercial conversations by helping quantify platform value

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a technologist with strong focus on business outcomes who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. You should be comfortable running deep technical sessions with architects while articulating clear strategic vision to C-suite stakeholders.

Essential qualifications:

• Proven experience delivering complex enterprise SaaS implementations
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to distill complex concepts into clear, persuasive messages for varied stakeholders
• Experience building and architecting systems, including expertise in areas such as AWS architecture, finance and billing platforms, and API technologies (GraphQL, webhooks)
• Customer-centric and analytical approach, focused on solving the right problems and using data to measure success
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments while managing multiple workstreams
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship (visa sponsorship not available for this role)

Highly desirable:

• Experience working within regulated energy retailers, particularly across billing, metering, and settlements systems
• Background architecting enterprise SaaS solutions in the energy industry
• Experience designing large-scale, impactful software systems
• Experience working with or for a large energy retailer
• Motivation driven by the role technology plays in the global energy transition
