What This Role Involves

As a Power Plant Technician at VST in Yuba City, you'll be responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of power generation equipment and systems. Working as part of a skilled team, you'll ensure our facilities meet strict safety and performance standards while contributing to the reliable delivery of power to the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate power generation equipment and control systems during assigned shifts
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plant equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to identify and resolve operational issues
• Maintain detailed records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and shift operations
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including lock-out/tag-out and confined space protocols
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient facility operations
• Report equipment abnormalities and safety concerns immediately

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical aptitude and strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operating procedures
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including climbing, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to obtain certifications relevant to power plant operations
