Principal Architect, BU

VST is seeking a Principal Architect, BU to join our Irving, Texas headquarters and lead enterprise architecture strategy across our business units.

The Opportunity

This is a key technical leadership position where you will shape the architectural direction and technology vision for VST. As Principal Architect in our Business Unit, you'll define standards, drive innovation, and ensure our systems support aggressive business growth. This full-time role offers the chance to influence how our organization builds, integrates, and scales mission-critical infrastructure. You'll work at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, helping VST maintain competitive advantage through sound architectural decisions.

What You'll Do

• Design and oversee enterprise architecture roadmaps aligned with business objectives
• Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across technical teams
• Lead technical design reviews and assessments of complex systems and integrations
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical strategy
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on architectural principles and scalability
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies
• Ensure system security, performance, and reliability across our technology stack
• Partner with executives to develop multi-year technology roadmaps

Skills & Qualifications

• 15+ years of software architecture and engineering experience
• Proven track record designing large-scale, mission-critical systems
• Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, microservices, and distributed systems
• Experience with technology assessments, vendor evaluation, and platform selection
• Demonstrated leadership ability and influence across technical and business teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences
