Power BI Developer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential international IT consultancy seeking a Power BI Developer to work remotely within the EU, supporting a major client engagement in Switzerland. Our talent team is looking for an expert who can transform complex datasets into compelling visual narratives and deliver exceptional dashboard experiences.

This role involves close collaboration with development teams and end-users to create intuitive, data-driven reporting solutions that prioritize clarity and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze functional and technical designs prepared by project teams
• Propose data storytelling and UX design approaches with consistent visuals to enhance user experience
• Review existing reports and implement enhancements based on business needs
• Prepare mockups and prototypes of dashboards and reports, presenting to stakeholders for feedback
• Organize dashboards so key performance indicators are immediately visible using the "at-a-glance" principle
• Design SharePoint sites to provide consolidated views of dataset catalogues, dashboards, and data warehouse resources
• Support automation initiatives based on data warehouse datasets, reports, and dashboards
• Collaborate with other technical staff on integration of Power BI reports with Power Platform, Azure, and SharePoint solutions

What We're Looking For

• Relevant university degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with coursework in Graphic Design, Communication, or Marketing Analytics
• Minimum five years of experience in UI/UX design and implementation of high-quality dashboards
• Strong data storytelling and UX design capabilities with ability to translate complex data into coherent narratives
• Advanced DAX proficiency for creating dynamic, user-friendly calculated measures including year-over-year growth, moving averages, and conditional formatting logic
• Expertise in Power BI visual best practices, selecting appropriate visuals and avoiding unnecessary elements
• Expert knowledge of customization and formatting including themes, color palettes for accessibility, drill-throughs, bookmarks, and slicer synchronization
• Proven ability to build intuitive dashboard navigation using buttons, navigation bars, and landing pages
• Required certification: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or equivalent
• Additional certifications in design/data storytelling, UI/UX design, HCI, Power BI, or Azure SQL are valuable
• Excellent command of English
