PLM Technical Consultant

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization seeking a seasoned PLM Technical Consultant to join their enterprise systems team. This is a 100% remote, full-time position for candidates based in the United States.

We are looking for a technical leader with 10+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise Product Lifecycle Management platforms, specifically PTC Windchill and/or Siemens Teamcenter. You'll play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and modernizing mission-critical PLM environments while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, administer, and optimize enterprise PLM environments
• Lead platform upgrades, migrations, patch management, environment refreshes, and modernization initiatives
• Manage application servers, web servers, databases, file vaults, indexing services, and CAD integrations to ensure high availability and optimal performance
• Design and implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and business continuity strategies
• Develop automation solutions using Shell, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar scripting tools
• Support and optimize integrations between PLM platforms and enterprise applications including ERP, MES, CAD, and ALM systems
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance improvements
• Administer security, authentication, authorization, user provisioning, and access control aligned with governance policies
• Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and disaster recovery runbooks
• Lead technical reviews, establish administration standards, and mentor junior team members

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline
• 10+ years of professional experience administering and supporting enterprise PLM platforms
• Significant experience with PTC Windchill and/or Siemens Teamcenter
• Extensive experience with PLM upgrades, migrations, patching, system administration, and platform optimization
• Strong knowledge of application servers, web servers, file vault management, indexing services, and PLM architecture
• Experience integrating PLM platforms with ERP systems and CAD tools
• Strong understanding of Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL databases
• Linux/Unix system administration experience
• Hands-on experience implementing HA, DR, backup strategies, and performance tuning
• Experience developing automation using Python, Shell, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar technologies
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills

Preferred:

• Experience deploying PLM platforms on AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or hybrid cloud environments
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Professional certifications for PLM platforms
• Experience supporting large-scale CAD integrations
• Familiarity with Industrial IoT, Digital Thread, Model-Based Systems Engineering, or Smart Manufacturing initiatives

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $130,000–$180,000 annually
