Platform Engineer

Portainer.io is hiring a Platform Engineer to join our remote team serving India and beyond. As a full-time Platform Engineer, you'll architect, operate, and continuously improve the infrastructure and systems that power our container orchestration platform globally.

About This Position

This full-time, remote Platform Engineer role offers the opportunity to own critical infrastructure supporting containerized deployments at scale. You'll work alongside engineers and product leaders to build the systems that enable organizations worldwide to containerize, orchestrate, and run applications reliably. Your focus will be on reliability, performance, and operational excellence in a fast-growing container technology company.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and operate highly available, scalable infrastructure that supports containerized workloads and microservices architectures
• Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure-as-code frameworks for rapid, repeatable releases
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate infrastructure requirements into production-ready systems
• Diagnose and resolve platform performance issues, bottlenecks, and reliability challenges with a focus on user impact
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability practices that give teams visibility into system behavior
• Participate in on-call support and incident response to maintain service stability

Requirements

• Hands-on experience operating containerized infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable orchestration systems
• Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools and configuration management practices
• Ability to write automation scripts and demonstrate proficiency with DevOps tooling and workflows
• Proven skill at investigating complex distributed system issues and implementing lasting solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication; experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) or on-premises data centers is valued
