Platform & DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization based in München that is scaling rapidly across European markets. As their Platform & DevOps Engineer, you will own the design, operation, and evolution of cloud infrastructure built primarily on Microsoft Azure.

Your day-to-day work includes:

• Designing and maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, identity, and governance
• Developing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, creating reusable modules and automating manual processes
• Building and evolving CI/CD platforms that enable development teams to deploy faster and more securely
• Monitoring platform performance, availability, and stability, addressing issues proactively
• Implementing security controls directly into platform and CI/CD processes in collaboration with security teams
• Optimizing infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency from the design phase
• Building cloud cost monitoring, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities with concrete optimization recommendations
• Working closely with engineering and product teams to continuously improve delivery processes and platform capabilities

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone with proven hands-on experience in cloud platform engineering and DevOps practices:

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure across compute, networking, storage, identity, and governance
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
• Production experience building and running CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD or comparable tools
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes, Nomad, or Azure Container Apps/Instances
• Solid scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting in production environments
• Applied understanding of IAM, RBAC, Zero Trust, and Privileged Identity Management
• Experience working with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or PCI DSS
• Demonstrated ability to analyze cloud usage, optimize resources, and design cost-efficient architectures
• Analytical and solution-oriented thinking with strong ownership in cross-functional environments
• Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent English

Bonus qualifications include Azure certifications, FinOps frameworks, serverless architectures, or experience with distributed or hybrid systems.
