Platform Architect

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a leading educational technology organization in their search for a Platform Architect. This is a high-impact technical leadership role where you'll drive the architectural vision for developer-facing platform products that serve millions of users worldwide. You'll lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and shape the technical direction of scalable PaaS solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and technical direction for platform features, services, and components, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy
• Drive development of complex software solutions with high-quality, maintainable, well-tested code across multiple technologies
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering best practices in development, code quality, and system design
• Collaborate with engineering managers, SRE teams, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and innovative solutions
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance development processes and system performance
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to architectural principles
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures
• Serve as a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge and driving continuous improvement of engineering processes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ years of progressive software development experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or principal engineering role
• Deep expertise in designing, building, and scaling complex, highly available distributed systems
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of both relational and NoSQL database systems and data modeling principles
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical initiatives from conception through deployment and maintenance
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and fostering collaborative team environments
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
