Philanthropic Advisor (Part-Time)

PowerLines seeks an experienced Philanthropic Advisor to guide donors and clients in Washington, District of Columbia on strategic charitable giving and impact investment. This is a remote, part-time position designed for a nonprofit or foundation professional ready to scale their advisory expertise.

About This Position

This part-time Philanthropic Advisor role offers the opportunity to counsel individuals, families, and organizations navigating the evolving landscape of philanthropy and social impact. Working remotely, you'll help clients articulate their giving goals, identify high-impact organizations, and structure gifts that align with their values and objectives. The position is ideal for someone with established expertise who values flexible hours while building meaningful, ongoing advisory relationships.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Consult with donors and philanthropic clients to develop personalized giving strategies, charitable plans, and impact frameworks
• Research and evaluate nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and community initiatives to recommend aligned funding opportunities
• Advise clients on the tax, legal, and financial implications of different giving vehicles and philanthropic structures
• Monitor progress and impact outcomes of supported initiatives and provide reporting to clients
• Build and sustain relationships with clients, nonprofit leaders, and community partners in the Washington, District of Columbia region
• Stay informed on trends, policy changes, and emerging opportunities in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors

Who We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in philanthropy, nonprofit management, foundation administration, or related advisory roles
• Strong knowledge of charitable giving structures, tax regulations, and philanthropic best practices
• Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate, and communicate the impact potential of organizations and initiatives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of the nonprofit landscape in Washington, District of Columbia and surrounding communities
• Ability to manage your own schedule and work independently in a remote, part-time capacity
• Genuine commitment to advancing effective philanthropy and measurable social impact
