Director, Information Security Audit & Compliance (Global)

Grant Thornton is seeking a full-time Director of Information Security Audit & Compliance to lead our growing global audit and compliance practice from our Lathrup Village office in Oakland County.

About the Role

We're expanding our information security audit and compliance capabilities on a global scale, and we need an experienced director to lead this growth. In this role, you'll establish and scale our global delivery centers, develop our audit and compliance methodologies, and oversee the execution of complex internal and external audits for enterprise clients worldwide. You'll manage a high-performing team while ensuring we maintain the highest standards of quality, regulatory compliance, and professional excellence across all engagements.

Core Duties

• Lead, mentor, and scale a global team of audit and compliance professionals across multiple delivery centers
• Develop and implement audit methodologies, compliance frameworks, and quality assurance processes that exceed regulatory and client requirements
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of internal audits, external audits, and compliance assessments for enterprise organizations
• Establish operational infrastructure for global delivery centers to support audit and compliance engagements
• Drive continuous improvement in audit processes, team development, resource allocation, and service quality
• Ensure adherence to professional standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies across all locations
• Build and strengthen strategic client relationships and support business development initiatives

What You Bring

• 10+ years of progressive experience in information security audit, compliance, or assurance roles
• Proven track record leading and scaling teams across multiple locations or geographic regions
• Expert knowledge of audit frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework) and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR, SOX, PCI-DSS)
• Hands-on experience managing internal and external audit programs and compliance initiatives
• Strong foundation in information security governance, risk management, and control design
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage C-suite and board-level stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in business, information security, accounting, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (CPA, CISA, CISSP) preferred
