Manager of Federal Policy

PowerLines is seeking a Manager of Federal Policy to lead our federal affairs strategy and government relations efforts in Washington, District of Columbia. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC, where you'll shape policy initiatives and build critical relationships with federal stakeholders.

What This Role Involves

As Manager of Federal Policy, you'll be the strategic voice connecting PowerLines with federal agencies, Congress, and regulatory bodies. You'll develop and execute comprehensive federal policy strategies, monitor legislative and regulatory developments, and represent the organization's interests in Washington's policy landscape. Your work will directly influence how PowerLines engages with key federal decision-makers on matters affecting the company's mission and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement federal policy strategies aligned with PowerLines' organizational goals and priorities
• Monitor federal legislation, regulations, and policy developments relevant to the organization's business areas
• Build and maintain relationships with members of Congress, federal agency officials, and policy influencers
• Prepare policy briefs, white papers, and analysis to inform internal decision-making and external advocacy
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and strategic alignment on policy matters
• Represent PowerLines at industry associations, coalitions, and federal policy forums
• Track and analyze the impact of federal policies and regulatory changes on PowerLines' operations

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in federal policy, government relations, or regulatory affairs
• Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes at the federal level
• Established relationships or experience engaging with federal agencies and Congressional offices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strategic thinking and policy analysis capabilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a policy-related field
