About this Opportunity

We are representing a confidential research organization in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region that is seeking an intern to contribute to cutting-edge flexible electronics research. This 3-5 month internship focuses on developing electronic interfacing solutions for portable gas sensors as part of an environmental monitoring project.

The internship will take place in Gardanne, France, starting September 2026 or in the following months. You will work within a state-of-the-art microelectronics facility featuring cleanroom environments and advanced R&D equipment dedicated to micropackaging and nano-electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a rigid PCB prototype for gas sensor interfacing
• Develop circuits capable of precisely measuring high-value resistances that vary with gas concentration
• Ensure low-noise performance and electromagnetic interference resistance in circuit design
• Plan and execute the transition from rigid PCB to flexible substrate implementation
• Integrate measurement circuits with microcontroller systems for data processing and wireless communication
• Conduct electrical characterization and testing of developed prototypes
• Document technical findings and contribute to research deliverables

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience:

• Currently enrolled in third year of BUT GEII or engineering degree program in electronics, embedded systems, or related fields
• Strong academic foundation in electronic circuit design and embedded systems

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with circuit simulation and design tools (LTSpice, KiCad, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with PCB design and layout
• Microcontroller programming experience
• Understanding of analog circuit design principles
• Knowledge of noise reduction techniques and EMI shielding

Essential Qualities:

• Strong experimental approach to problem-solving
• Genuine passion for electronics and embedded systems
• Ability to work independently in a research environment
• Attention to detail in circuit design and testing
