NEPA Project Manager – Environmental Studies (Phoenix)

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a NEPA Project Manager for our Phoenix office to lead environmental compliance, permitting, and project management across the Southwest region. This full-time position with our Environmental Services Global Practice offers the opportunity to manage complex environmental studies and build lasting client partnerships in Maricopa County and beyond.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to advance environmental consulting services from our Phoenix location. You'll oversee projects across the complete environmental services spectrum—from initial assessment through regulatory approval—applying technical expertise to deliver results for clients in infrastructure, energy, and development sectors. This role provides clear advancement opportunities and visibility into strategic client relationships.

What You'll Do

• Lead NEPA analysis and environmental impact assessments for infrastructure and energy projects
• Manage permitting processes, regulatory coordination, and agency interactions
• Direct siting and routing evaluations to assess environmental and technical feasibility
• Oversee environmental studies teams to deliver comprehensive results on schedule and within budget
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for expanded engagement
• Coordinate across technical disciplines to integrate environmental findings into project strategies
• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and regulatory compliance reports
