Graphic Designer – Visual Storytelling & Presentation – 1898 & Co.

Burns & McDonnell is hiring a full-time Graphic Designer at our 1898 & Co. division in Chicago's Illinois Medical District. Join our marketing and communications team to craft visual stories that help clients and stakeholders grasp complex engineering and design solutions.

About the Role

As a Graphic Designer focused on visual storytelling and presentation excellence, you'll create compelling visual communications that advance strategic growth across our diverse market sectors. Working within 1898 & Co., our dedicated marketing arm, you'll partner closely with internal teams to translate complex concepts into clear, impactful design solutions that strengthen brand presence and support business development efforts.

What You'll Do

• Design and refine presentations, infographics, and visual materials that support business development and client pitches
• Develop cohesive visual narratives that enhance brand identity and consistency across multiple market sectors
• Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to understand strategic goals and transform them into compelling designs
• Create assets that make technical and engineering concepts accessible and engaging to diverse audiences
• Produce both digital and print materials, maintaining design quality and brand standards throughout
• Support marketing initiatives and proposals that showcase our firm's expertise and capabilities

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated mastery of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
• Portfolio showing strong visual storytelling and presentation design work
• Skill in translating complex information into clear, visually engaging content
• Experience working in professional services, corporate, or client-facing environments
• Solid foundation in typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy
• Strong communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
