The Opportunity
We're looking for a reliable, hands-on technician to respond to member calls throughout the Akron area. As a Mobile Battery Technician, you'll travel to customers' locations to diagnose battery and electrical issues, perform replacements, and deliver exceptional roadside assistance. This position offers steady 1st Shift hours, direct vehicle access, and the satisfaction of solving problems for real people when they need help most.
Responsibilities
- Respond to roadside service calls from members with battery and electrical concerns
- Diagnose vehicle battery conditions and charging system performance using testing equipment
- Replace batteries in diverse vehicle types and configurations
- Test alternators, starters, and related electrical components
- Provide clear, professional communication with customers about service findings and solutions
- Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders in the field
- Perform equipment maintenance and ensure vehicle readiness for each shift
- Uphold safety standards while working roadside and in various weather conditions
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of automotive service experience or demonstrated battery/electrical knowledge
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and navigate to appointments using GPS/mapping
- Physical capability to lift batteries and components (up to 50 lbs) and work in varied conditions
- Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using testing tools and hand tools
- Reliability and punctuality for 1st Shift commitments
- Willingness to be on-call or respond to assigned service area throughout your shift
