Middle School Math Teacher

What This Role Involves

As a Middle School Math Teacher, you'll lead engaging classroom instruction in mathematics, helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Your teaching will support diverse learners in a collaborative school environment, where your expertise directly impacts student achievement and confidence in mathematics. You'll work within East Baton Rouge Parish School System's curriculum framework to deliver standards-aligned instruction that prepares students for advanced coursework.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics lessons to middle school students
• Assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments, and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports learning for all students
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and performance
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, share best practices, and support school initiatives
• Track student data and use evidence-based strategies to support skill development
• Meet professional development requirements and participate in school-based training

What We're Looking For

• Valid Louisiana teaching certification or eligibility to teach middle school mathematics
• Strong knowledge of mathematics content and ability to explain concepts clearly
• Experience teaching middle school students or demonstrated ability to teach grades 6–8
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful classroom culture
• Ability to work effectively with families, colleagues, and school leadership
• Professional judgment and willingness to adapt instruction to meet student needs
