Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, price, and structure new and renewal middle market accounts across general industry segments.
• Apply underwriting guidelines and sound judgment to select risks that support profitable portfolio growth.
• Build and strengthen relationships with agents and brokers to drive submission flow and retention.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing while maintaining strong account-level discipline.
• Collaborate with peers and leadership to share expertise and support team development.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial underwriting experience, ideally within middle market or general industries lines.
• Strong analytical, pricing, and risk-assessment skills.
• Confident negotiation and relationship-building abilities with agency and broker partners.
• Sound, independent decision-making and a results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work on-site full-time at our Talcott Village location in Hartford County.
