Mid-Level Software Engineer

We are representing a fast-growing European fintech organization that is building a modern equity management and financial reporting platform. Our client serves private and public companies across Europe and is backed by leading venture investors.

As a Mid-Level Software Engineer, you'll build reliable, scalable product experiences that help companies manage their equity with confidence. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, product managers, and designers to turn complex financial workflows into clear, automated, user-friendly software.

This role is a strong fit if you're ready to take ownership of well-scoped projects, grow your technical judgement, and contribute across the full stack while learning from senior peers.

Location: Spain (remote)

Responsibilities

You will work on one of several specialized engineering teams:

• Core Equity: Build and maintain the foundational transaction logic and data models that power equity events such as share issuance, pool creation, and ownership adjustments
• Workflows & Automation: Automate complex equity workflows and integrate with third-party services, including systems that help admins efficiently onboard employees and manage equity grants
• Reporting: Transform core equity data into financial, operational, and compliance reports that support decision-making and auditing across jurisdictions
• Tax: Ensure taxes are correctly calculated and reflected during equity operations such as exercising, selling, and other taxable events across multiple jurisdictions

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Building and shipping production-quality features across the stack
• Collaborating with product managers and designers to break down problems and deliver user-centric solutions
• Participating actively in code reviews and technical discussions
• Owning medium-sized features from implementation through release
• Contributing to improvements in quality, maintainability, and user experience

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer
• Comfortable building and shipping production-quality features across the stack
• Enjoy learning complex domains and turning them into simple, maintainable product experiences
• Care about clean, tested, readable code and thoughtful collaboration
• Curious about equity, financial workflows, and their real-world impact on companies and employees
• Excited to grow your technical judgement through code reviews, pairing, and architecture discussions
• Take ownership of your work while asking for input early when trade-offs are unclear

Tech Stack: TypeScript, React, Tailwind CSS, tRPC, Node.js, MongoDB, Temporal, GCP, Terraform Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions. We don't expect proficiency in this specific stack—we value your ability to learn and adapt.

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are based on experience, location, and market benchmarks.
