Microsoft AI & Automation Solutions Architec

Position Overview

We are representing a financial services organization seeking an experienced Microsoft AI & Automation Solutions Architect. This is a hands-on consulting engagement combining strategic architecture with practical solution development to transform business operations through AI and automation.

Our client needs an expert who can assess processes, identify automation opportunities, and build production-ready solutions using the Microsoft ecosystem. You'll work directly with business and technology leaders to establish best practices, implement AI-powered applications and agents, and create secure workflows that improve productivity while meeting financial services compliance requirements.

Location: United States (Remote during Phoenix, Arizona business hours)

Responsibilities

• Assess business processes and develop an AI and automation roadmap aligned with organizational objectives and security requirements
• Architect and build custom Copilot agents using Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio for business-specific use cases
• Design and implement automated workflows using Power Automate and Microsoft 365 services
• Develop business applications using Power Apps where appropriate
• Integrate solutions with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 services
• Connect agents and workflows to internal data sources, APIs, and business applications
• Build solutions for document processing, approvals, employee support, information retrieval, reporting, compliance workflows, and operational automation
• Configure knowledge sources, connectors, actions, permissions, and authentication for AI solutions
• Review and optimize Microsoft 365 Copilot configuration and adoption strategies
• Advise on Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, endpoint security, Conditional Access, and identity controls
• Establish governance standards for agents, Power Platform, connectors, and organizational data
• Ensure solutions follow data-loss prevention, least-privilege, security, and compliance practices
• Develop prototypes and proofs of concept, transitioning successful solutions into production
• Document architectures, workflows, configurations, and operational procedures
• Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to internal teams

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 7+ years of experience with Microsoft cloud, application, automation, or enterprise architecture
• Strong hands-on experience building (not just administering) Copilot agents and business automation solutions
• Deep expertise with Microsoft 365, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune
• Experience integrating Microsoft solutions with APIs, connectors, and enterprise data sources
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, permissions, identity, and data governance
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Experience leading technical discovery sessions and advising executives and business stakeholders
• Strong documentation, presentation, and customer-facing consulting skills
• Availability to work remotely during Phoenix, Arizona business hours

Preferred:

• Experience within banking, credit unions, financial services, insurance, or regulated industries
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, DLP, information protection, and compliance
• Experience with Azure AI services or custom AI application development
• Experience with Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs
• PowerShell, REST API, JSON, or other development/integration experience
• Experience establishing enterprise AI governance and responsible AI standards
• Relevant Microsoft certifications in Azure, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, security, or AI
