Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital health organization seeking a Medical Director to lead the medical content strategy for a large CME learning platform serving physicians across Germany.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the medical topic catalog, determining which evidence-based subjects are covered based on clinical relevance and market gaps
  • Build and maintain relationships with department heads and key opinion leaders, continuously generating new continuing education ideas
  • Lead and develop a seven-person medical team, including two full-time medical editors and five medical students who handle quality control, course descriptions, and topic development
  • Shape new educational formats including videos, panel discussions, e-learning modules, short-form content, and gamified learning experiences
  • Manage ongoing projects and coordinate closely with speakers to ensure project requirements are met with medical accuracy
  • Ensure all continuing medical education content meets CME standards, is evidence-based, and fulfills regulatory requirements
  • Streamline workflows and documentation tools as the organization scales, serving as the key link for cross-departmental collaboration and process automation

What We're Looking For

  • Completed medical degree (MD or equivalent)
  • Ideally 5+ years of professional experience in clinical practice, industry, or digital health
  • Previous team leadership experience strongly preferred; ability to develop people and set priorities is essential
  • Hands-on mindset—comfortable handling tasks yourself rather than only delegating, willing to work operationally when needed
  • Enthusiasm for project management, process building, and medical content or medical education—this combination is core to the role
  • Advantageous: startup experience and background in medical education
  • Strong communication skills with senior physicians and industry partners, both written and verbal
  • Native-level German and fluent English required
