Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients, verify identity, and escort them to exam or treatment areas while documenting arrival and chief concern
• Measure and record vital signs, height, weight, and other baseline data, then enter findings accurately into the electronic health record
• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, restock consumable supplies, and ensure equipment is ready for the next patient
• Assist providers during examinations, minor procedures, or treatments by handing instruments and providing patient reassurance
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing following proper labeling, handling, and chain-of-custody protocols
• Process referrals, schedule follow-up visits, and manage clinic calendars so appointments and resources align
• Educate patients on home-care instructions, medication reminders, or next-step logistics under clinician guidance
• Support BMT Clinic workflow by coordinating with nursing, pharmacy, and laboratory colleagues to keep multi-step visits on track

What We're Looking For

• High-school diploma or equivalent plus formal medical-assistant training from an accredited program
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant or eligibility to obtain certification within a defined period
• Active Basic Life Support certification and comfort performing CPR when required
• Proficiency with medical terminology, vital-sign measurement, and common point-of-care testing
• Familiarity with electronic health records and ability to type clinical notes accurately and promptly
• Excellent interpersonal skills that foster trust with patients and clear communication with the multidisciplinary team
• Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly between rooms, and maintain composure in a busy clinic
• Willingness to work a consistent 40-hour day schedule at the Worcester, MA University Campus location
