Role Overview

As a Personal Banker I with UMB in 2 Locations you become the primary face of the branch experience. You will greet walk-in and scheduled customers, listen carefully to their needs, and match them with the right deposit accounts, payment solutions, and basic lending products. This client-facing assignment demands clear communication, genuine relationship building, and a commitment to resolving routine banking questions on the first interaction so every visitor leaves feeling supported.

Core Duties

• Open new checking, savings, and money-market accounts while accurately capturing customer information and verifying identity documents
• Process teller transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments with strict cash-handling accuracy and dual-control procedures
• Identify cross-sell opportunities for debit cards, online banking enrollment, and certified checks based on each client’s stated goals
• Educate clients on digital self-service tools so they can manage balances and pay bills remotely after the branch visit
• Maintain complete branch records, balance cash drawers daily, and escalate complex service issues or potential fraud concerns to supervisors
• Participate in branch product campaigns and track personal activity against assigned relationship goals

Requirements

• High-school diploma or equivalent educational credential
• Demonstrated customer-service or retail sales experience that required friendly face-to-face interaction
• Basic proficiency with personal computers, numerical calculation, and standard office software
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to explain financial products in plain language
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work full-time branch hours that may include occasional evenings or Saturdays
• Successful completion of background and credit screening required for banking roles
