Position Summary

This faculty appointment centers on delivering expert clinical services in gastroenterology with emphasis on endobariatric interventions and comprehensive obesity management while mentoring the next generation of clinicians. Working on site in Doral, Florida, the Assistant Professor of Clinical - Medicine, Gastroenterology, Endobariatric and Obesity integrates patient-centered practice with educational duties to strengthen outcomes across adult gastroenterology services. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with gastrointestinal disorders, performing advanced endoscopic and endobariatric procedures as indicated.
• Develop individualized obesity treatment plans that combine endoscopic therapies, lifestyle guidance, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Supervise and instruct medical students, residents, and fellows during clinical rotations and procedural training sessions.
• Document care thoroughly in electronic records, coordinate referrals, and participate in case conferences to optimize continuum of care.
• Contribute to quality-improvement initiatives, protocol development, and clinical research activities focused on gastroenterology and metabolic health.
• Engage with interdisciplinary teams including nutrition, surgery, and endocrinology specialists to deliver coordinated patient management.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
• Demonstrated clinical experience or fellowship training in endobariatric procedures and obesity medicine.
• Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in Florida together with current hospital privilege readiness.
• Proven ability to teach and mentor trainees in an academic medical setting.
• Strong interpersonal, procedural, and documentation skills suited to high-volume outpatient and procedural environments.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice in digestive and metabolic disease care.
