Role Overview

As a Medicaid Actuarial Manager, you will oversee actuarial analyses, financial modeling, and rate-setting initiatives for state and federal Medicaid programs. You'll partner with government agencies, managed care organizations, and health plans to evaluate program costs, design benefit structures, and assess financial sustainability. Your work directly influences decisions that impact millions of beneficiaries and program viability across the country. You'll combine technical actuarial expertise with strategic thinking to solve complex policy and financial challenges in public health programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial modeling projects, including cost projections, rate analysis, and financial impact assessments for Medicaid programs and initiatives
• Develop and review actuarial valuations, reserve estimates, and funding recommendations for state Medicaid operations
• Manage cross-functional teams to conduct research, analyze large datasets, and synthesize findings into clear reports for executive and regulatory audiences
• Support compliance with Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOPs) and regulatory requirements across state and federal programs
• Advise clients on program design changes, benefit structures, and financial forecasting strategies

Who We're Looking For

• Actuarial credentials (FSA, ASA, EA, or equivalent) or demonstrated expertise in health insurance actuarial analysis
• 5+ years of experience in Medicaid, health insurance actuarial work, or related health plan analysis
• Strong proficiency with actuarial software, financial modeling tools, and data analysis platforms
• Ability to manage complex projects, lead teams, and communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of Medicaid program structure, rate-setting methodologies, and healthcare financing
