About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fusion energy organization at the forefront of next-generation clean energy technology. Our client is developing advanced systems that will revolutionize how the world generates power, and they need a talented Manufacturing Engineer to industrialize critical magnet production processes.
This is a rare opportunity to work on breakthrough engineering challenges in Munich, contributing directly to hardware that will define the future of sustainable energy. You'll bridge the gap between prototype development and full-scale manufacturing, designing and scaling production processes for highly specialized components.
Responsibilities
- Support the industrialization of production processes for magnet manufacturing, executing key activities within a critical hardware program
- Design, test, and scale up production processes including welding, bonding, sealing, and coating
- Bridge manufacturing technology from initial prototypes to full-scale production
- Define requirements for industrialized manufacturing equipment and processes to ensure performance, repeatability, and safe operation
- Contribute to the development of in-process monitoring and non-destructive testing methods
- Determine and justify quality requirements to balance smooth manufacturing with required product performance
- Design jigs and tools for industrialized magnet production
- Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians across multiple teams
- Operate across a wide range of technical tasks from design and engineering to hands-on production work
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Master's degree in mechanical, mechatronics, or similar engineering field
- Extensive experience in manufacturing process development, process monitoring, and non-destructive testing in an industrial setting
- Strong hands-on experience in production environments across a wide range of processes (welding, machining, assembly, bonding)
- Hands-on experience in prototyping and testing
- Proficient in creating development plans from start to finish for new processes
- Experience troubleshooting issues on production lines
- Ability to work across a variety of tasks in a dynamic environment
- Reliable, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong team player able to collaborate with engineers and technical staff
- High performer comfortable with experimentation, risk-taking, and learning from mistakes
Preferred:
- Familiarity with both prototype manufacturing and industrial manufacturing
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly CATIA V5 or 3DExperience
- Background in product testing and qualification in a regulated industry
- Exposure to SCADA systems or MES integration
- Knowledge of safety standards and risk assessments in automated environments
