About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential nuclear energy organization seeking a senior-level Licensing Engineer to provide regulatory guidance and ensure compliance on complex projects. This is a remote position within the contiguous United States, with travel required for business needs. Candidates residing within 30 miles of certain office locations may have in-office requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex regulatory compliance issues and processes for assigned nuclear projects
  • Provide tactical direction and technical regulatory guidance to internal teams and management on licensing strategy and interpretation
  • Oversee licensing programs and schedules for regulatory engagements, meetings, and hearings
  • Manage client interfaces and support regulatory applications and legal processes for licenses and permits
  • Interface with industry groups and regulatory agencies on behalf of the organization
  • Prepare, edit, and review regulatory submittals ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with licensing strategy and statutory requirements
  • Apply authoring and organizational skills to prepare large, complex nuclear license applications
  • Develop effective regulatory strategies based on industry and regulatory guidance documents
  • Ensure program compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and standards including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1
  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for standardized work practices
  • Implement lessons learned and industry best practices; participate in assigned industry forums
  • Travel domestically and internationally to regulatory and industry locations as needed

What We're Looking For

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Science required
  • Advanced degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of licensing experience in the nuclear industry at power plants, reactor suppliers, or architect-engineering firms (8 years with advanced degree)
  • Other nuclear, engineering, legal/regulatory, or Navy nuclear backgrounds may be considered
  • Direct interactions with regulatory agencies preferred
  • Knowledge of project management systems preferred
  • Experience in one or more areas: COLA and nuclear construction, site characterization, environmental, seismic/structural, ITP and ITAAC, Maintenance Rule, Emergency Planning, ASME BPVC Section II/III/XI, or radiological engineering

Requirements:

  • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally using common forms of transportation

Pay

The target compensation range for this role is $136,819 - $165,126 annually, with a full range of $122,665 - $191,861 annually. Final compensation is determined by relevant skills, experience, education, and internal equity considerations.
