Legal Engineer, In-House

Our talent team is representing a confidential legal technology client in their search for a Legal Engineer to join their Paris office. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, technology, and client success within a fast-growing organization transforming how corporate legal departments operate.

This role doesn't fit neatly into traditional categories—it combines elements of legal operations, solutions architecture, product specialization, and strategic advisory. You'll partner with sophisticated in-house legal teams, helping General Counsels and Legal Operations leaders maximize the impact of AI-native workflow solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to General Counsels, Legal Operations leaders, and corporate legal departments, helping them identify high-value opportunities to scale technology adoption across their functions
• Own end-to-end client relationships in collaboration with Go To Market and Engagement teams—from running pilots with business units to onboarding new team members and driving department-wide adoption
• Act as the voice of in-house users internally, sharing insights from legal ops teams, commercial lawyers, and compliance functions that inform product development and strategic priorities
• Deliver compelling product demonstrations and training sessions to diverse audiences, from General Counsels to regional legal teams and operations professionals
• Document best practices from leading legal departments and contribute to scalable playbooks that support global growth
• Guide in-house teams through the transformation of corporate legal operations, helping them evaluate ROI, efficiency gains, and the strategic impact of AI across functions like contract management and regulatory compliance

What We're Looking For

Background and Experience:

• Legal background with experience in a corporate legal department or in-house legal team
• Exposure to legal operations, process improvement, or technology implementation is highly valued
• Deep understanding of how in-house legal teams operate, including their challenges with limited resources and pressure to demonstrate business value

Technical and Communication Skills:

• Tech-curious and product-savvy, comfortable navigating technical conversations around generative AI, innovation, and productivity tools
• Exceptional communication skills across diverse stakeholders—translating seamlessly between General Counsels, business leaders, lawyers, and technical teams
• Ability to bring structure to ambiguity and serve as a calm, credible presence in fast-moving environments

Working Style:

• Proactive and self-directed, comfortable managing multiple client relationships simultaneously
• Process-oriented with the ability to evaluate and improve workflows leveraging new technologies
• Committed to quality while maintaining momentum—you ship and iterate rather than seeking perfection
• Understanding of commercial realities: balancing risk and objectives, demonstrating ROI, and positioning legal as a strategic partner
