About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential nonprofit organization working to expand access to legal education and justice advocacy across underserved communities. We are seeking experienced Law Teachers to support their innovative legal education programme delivered in partnership with a prestigious UK university.

This is a voluntary teaching position for one academic year (renewable based on performance and availability), requiring 12-15 hours over a 12-week semester per module, for two modules. Teaching typically occurs between 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM UK Time, Monday through Thursday. Delivery is primarily virtual (Zoom/Teams or pre-recorded), with potential flexibility for occasional in-person teaching where applicable.

The programme supports undergraduate law students studying Criminal Law, Contract Law, Legal Methods and Systems, and Public Law. Teachers with expertise in other UK Law LLB modules are encouraged to express interest for future consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on assigned modules using the university syllabus and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
• Serve as structural advisor for your module, regularly liaising with assigned Teaching Assistants
• Develop learning and teaching timetables, formative assessment programmes, and marking guidelines
• Provide a schedule of activities at semester start, clearly outlining topics you will cover directly
• Focus in-person or virtual teaching on module introductions, challenging topics, formative assessments, and exam preparation
• Supplement university distance learning materials where appropriate and support Teaching Assistant capacity development
• Lead the identification and setting of formative assessment and mock examination questions with marking schemes
• Review and approve lesson plans developed by Teaching Assistants to ensure alignment with overall module objectives
• Oversee administration and marking of assessments conducted by Teaching Assistants

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB); Master of Laws (LLM) highly preferred
• Doctorate or Professional Certification is a plus
• 5+ years of teaching experience in Commonwealth countries (University of London experience preferred)
• Strong academic and research skills with ability to contribute to legal scholarship
• Teaching skills (andragogy) with ability to conduct effective legal training at a practical level
• Legal practice experience is an added advantage
