About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing, confidential direct-to-consumer outdoor brand based in Hamburg. Our client is building a scalable, international business model and needs a finance professional who can bring structure, insight, and strategic support to their ambitious growth trajectory. This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly with leadership to shape data-driven decisions that impact the entire organization.

As a Junior/Professional Controller, you'll play a central role in establishing financial transparency, optimizing processes, and steering performance across products and sales channels. Responsibilities

• Support the development and ongoing refinement of regular finance reports, ensuring key metrics are continuously monitored
• Contribute to budget planning, forecasting, and liquidity management to guide the company's financial trajectory
• Analyze revenue, costs, margins, and profitability to identify opportunities and flag variances early
• Monitor the economic performance of products and distribution channels, supporting data-driven decisions on assortment, pricing, and margins
• Help improve, automate, and scale finance processes and data structures to support growth
• Assist with ongoing finance operations, collaborating closely with accounting, tax advisors, and external partners
• Take operational responsibility for bookkeeping and work closely with the tax consultant
• Prepare business cases and analytical foundations for new products, investments, and strategic initiatives
• Partner with founders to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive business decisions

What We're Looking For

• Degree or qualification in business administration, finance, or a comparable field
• Initial experience in e-commerce environments or dynamic finance settings is ideal
• Solid understanding of controlling, cash flow management, and accounting processes
• Analytical mindset with a structured, data-driven approach to problem-solving
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain oversight in fast-paced environments
• Ideally passionate about outdoor activities or adventure
• Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with external partners and financial institutions
• Hands-on, solution-oriented, and resilient under pressure
• Interest in automation, digital tools, and sustainable finance solutions
