International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert

CDM Smith is seeking an International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert for a full-time position based in Barre Junction, Washington County. This is your opportunity to lead critical forensic investigations into per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance contamination at a premier global engineering and consulting firm.

What This Role Involves

As a subject matter expert in PFAS forensics, you will serve as the technical authority on complex environmental contamination investigations. You will direct forensic assessments to identify PFAS sources, contaminant transport pathways, and contamination histories across diverse industrial and geographic contexts. Your expertise will shape site characterization strategies, guide investigation approaches, and inform remediation solutions for clients confronting PFAS challenges worldwide.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead PFAS forensic investigations and establish comprehensive site assessment protocols
• Analyze geochemical data, contaminant transport patterns, and historical site information to determine contamination sources and timelines
• Mentor and guide technical teams to ensure forensic investigations meet scientific and regulatory standards
• Review technical findings and provide expert-level critique to ensure scientific rigor and regulatory defensibility
• Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and cross-functional teams on complex PFAS contamination cases
• Monitor developments in PFAS science, analytical methods, and evolving regulatory requirements
• Contribute to technical proposals and feasibility assessments for international PFAS projects

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in environmental engineering, hydrogeology, chemistry, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated expertise in PFAS forensics, environmental site assessment, or contamination investigation
• Strong foundation in contaminant transport, groundwater flow, and environmental chemistry principles
• Excellent technical writing and communication abilities across diverse professional audiences
• Proven experience managing complex investigations and leading technical professionals
• Knowledge of international environmental regulations and assessment frameworks
