CDM Smith is seeking an International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert to join our team in East Grand Forks, Polk County — a full-time, on-site opportunity to shape meaningful environmental projects on a global scale.
About the Role
As the International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert at CDM Smith, you will serve as a technical authority on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), applying forensic investigation methods to complex environmental challenges across international projects. This role places you at the center of work that matters, with the freedom to actively guide the direction of your own career journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical leadership on PFAS forensics for international environmental investigations and remediation programs.
- Apply advanced source identification, fate, and transport analysis to interpret PFAS contamination data.
- Advise project teams and clients on regulatory considerations and investigative best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the development of technical strategies, reports, and recommendations grounded in forensic science.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, defensible outcomes.
Qualifications
- Recognized subject matter expertise in PFAS chemistry, forensics, and environmental investigation.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting complex contamination data and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with international environmental frameworks and regulatory contexts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills suited to a senior advisory role.
- Willingness to work on-site in East Grand Forks, Polk County.
