Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential research institution in the Paris-Saclay area for a Research Engineer position focused on applied economics and defense supply chain resilience.

In this role, you will:

• Contribute to state-of-the-art literature reviews on graph theory formalisms as they apply to value chain analysis in the defense sector
• Support the development of decision-support tools based on these mathematical and analytical frameworks
• Work on a four-year research project examining the resilience of industrial value chains in uncertain geopolitical environments
• Collaborate with an applied economics research unit conducting high-level academic and applied work

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong background in economics, operations research, or a related quantitative field
• Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous literature reviews and synthesize complex academic material
• Experience with graph theory, network analysis, or supply chain modeling
• Proficiency in developing analytical tools and frameworks for decision support
• Excellent research and technical writing skills in French
• Ability to work independently while contributing to collaborative research projects
• Interest in defense economics and industrial policy is valuable
