Head of Marketing (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential clean energy organization in Berlin that's scaling rapidly across the German market. We're seeking an experienced Head of Marketing to lead customer acquisition strategy, build a high-performing team, and drive profitable growth across all channels.

This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the CEO with full budget ownership and strategic responsibility for both brand positioning and performance marketing.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the complete marketing strategy across brand, performance channels, comparison portals, door-to-door, social media, and CRM
• Own unit economics with sharp focus on customer acquisition cost optimization, payback periods, and lifetime value ratios in close partnership with Finance
• Collaborate closely with Product and Operations teams on new product launches and go-to-market execution
• Develop and lead a lean, high-impact marketing team through a period of rapid scaling
• Drive adoption of AI tools across marketing functions, identifying highest-leverage use cases for personalization and predictive analytics
• Remain hands-on with core initiatives while providing strategic leadership

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years marketing experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally within fast-growing startups, scale-ups, or similarly dynamic environments
• Exceptionally data-driven approach: ability to analyze, visualize, and derive clear decisions from marketing and business metrics
• Interest in leveraging modern tools, AI, and automation to make marketing smarter and more efficient (curiosity and willingness to learn valued over existing expertise)
• Proven experience scaling B2C consumer brands, ideally in energy, fintech (banking/insurance), or comparable sectors
• Strong understanding of both brand and performance marketing with hands-on experience in cross-channel management, optimization, and measurement
• Solid business acumen: you think in terms of unit economics, margins, and customer lifetime value
• Fluent German (C1/C2, ideally native level) and very strong English required
• Builder mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, able to prioritize clearly and drive results pragmatically
• Clear, confident communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to Have: Energy sector experience and startup/scale-up background

Location & Work Arrangement

Berlin-based or remote within Germany. Our client supports flexible working arrangements.
